Up your leadership game
As the world is changing at unprecedented pace, executive coaching in India is also evolving. Bangalore being IT hub has always been the centrepoint of coaching, though Delhi and Mumbai are emerging as new destinations for leadership coaching.
Unlike the previous decade now the coach is expected not only to challenge the clients and help them develop insights but also to empower them with latest psychometric tools, bounce back strategies and accelerated growth ideas. The responsibilities of an executive coach has multiplied. Now, in order to produce breakthrough results, he must display hundred per cent commitment, maintain the conducive space for the optimal client’s performance and hold him accountable whenever he notices a slack. That makes coaching a virtually 24-hour profession and only those succeed who operate from the space of contribution and service.

What is executive coaching?
A coach puts a mirror before you to have a wider vision so that you develop deeper insight and make more conscious choices for the things that matter to you. He creates a world of possibilities, shows you the pathway and help you maintain the accelerated journey towards you goals.
Association for Talent Development (ATD) defines executive coaching as follows:
‘Meeting one-on-one with senior managers or leaders (such as a director, vice president, president, or member of the C-suite), the executive coach provides a safe, structured, and trustworthy environment in which to offer support for the individual. The coach also helps the leader understand their current competencies, see how they’re perceived by others, and focus on identifying and clarifying current goals as well as the appropriate action steps to reach those goals.’
Usually, the coaching also veers into personal space and ends up bringing all-round transformation to the individual.
Here are a few reasons coaching has an edge over other executive development processes
Safe and Vulnerable Space: Executive coaching sessions are one to one interactions where the client has a safe and vulnerable space. The interactions are free flow and offers the coachee an opportunity to share without fear of being judged, what he truly feels and believes. Coaching offers the space that executives don’t get at their workplace. Usually, the executives don’t get this space anywhere else.
